Before you start

  • The assessment must be in Complete or Reviewing status.
  • You need Reviewer or Admin role to generate reports. Read-only users can view and download existing reports.
  • Ensure the assessment summary is finalised before generating a client-facing report (see guide 09).

Steps

  1. Open the Reports page. From the sidebar, click Reports. The page lists every report that has been generated for the current assessment. [screenshot: 15-reports.png]
  2. Review existing reports. Each report row displays full provenance metadata:
    • Assessment version — which run of the assessment the report is based on.
    • Framework — the criteria framework used.
    • Document set — the documents that were assessed.
    • Generated by — the user who triggered the report.
    • Generated at — the timestamp of generation.
  3. Generate a new report. Click Generate Report. Choose the export format:
    FormatBest for
    PDFFormal distribution, printing, and archiving.
DOCXEditing and annotating in Word before sharing.
PPTXPresenting findings in slide format to boards or steering groups.
  4. Review the PDF report structure. PDF reports follow a professional multi-page layout:
    • Cover page — assessment title, framework, date, and attribution (who ran the assessment, who reviewed it).
    • Executive summary — the DCA rating, headline numbers, and narrative.
    • Category breakdown — each framework category with its findings and RAG distribution.
    • Evidence matrix — a tabular view of every criterion, its evidence coverage, and current assessment rating.
    • RAG badges — colour-coded badges throughout for quick visual scanning.
  5. Use the premium report service. For client-facing deliverables requiring a polished layout, select Premium Report. This applies professional formatting, consistent typography, and a branded multi-page design suitable for board packs and gateway reviews.
  6. Download the report. Once generated, click the download icon next to any report in the list. The file saves to your local machine.
  7. Re-generate a report. Click Regenerate on any existing report row. This produces a fresh version using the current assessment data. The previous version is retained in the history — it is not overwritten.
  8. Review report history. Scroll through the reports list to see every version ever generated. All reports are retained for audit trail purposes. Each entry links back to the exact assessment version and document set it was built from, ensuring full traceability.

Common questions

Q: Can I regenerate a report after the assessment has been updated? A: Yes. Click Regenerate at any time. The new report reflects the current state of the assessment. Previous versions remain in the history for comparison and audit. Q: What provenance information is embedded in the report? A: Every report records the assessment version, framework, document set, who generated it, and the timestamp. This metadata appears on the cover page and is stored in the report history for compliance and audit purposes. Q: What is the difference between standard and premium reports? A: Standard reports are functional and well-structured but use a default layout. Premium reports apply professional formatting with branded styling, consistent typography, and a layout designed for board packs and formal gateway submissions.
